Teaching is my passion. I strongly believe that every moment is a teaching moment, whether or not it is intended to be. I feel that my job as a tutor and as a teacher is to bring out the knowledge within. I understand that every learner is different and for this reason I begin with an assessment of each student. I then try to use their learning habits as a start for future lessons. I believe in learning through experience as opposed to memorization and so every opportunity I try to create a hands-on environment. I also am intentional in personalizing lessons so that they make sense and are fun to the learner. I also stress retention of information through constant review and skill-building. A Little Bit About Me...

I hold two bachelor degrees, a BA in French Language and Literature and a BS in Microbiology. I also have a certificate in African Studies and a minor in Chemistry. Therefore, I have a very well-rounded background in both the sciences and the liberal arts. I am also certified to teach English as a foreign language. I have worked with many non-native English speakers to improve or perfect various aspects of the English languages, including speaking, reading, writing, and listening comprehension.
I work with each student in the way that is best for their particular learning styles. I prefer a laid-back approach to learning, allowing students to understand at their own pace and make connection on their own. This does not mean, however, that I do not have high expectations for my students.
