My comments on tutoring Statistics : Especially experienced explaining basic statistical concepts to students who typically struggle with math.

During undergraduate, I tutored several of my classmates in different chemistry and math courses. Additionally, I've had the pleasure of being a teaching assistant for 2 years for undergraduate statistics. As a TA, I was responsible for summarizing new material, reviewing the concepts, and going over the homework for groups of 20 to 30 students. I've also had a good amount of experience working with smaller groups of students or 1-on-1 with students who came to my office hours.
Patient and encouraging. I usually like to summarize the material and give a bit of context and work through an example. As a freshman forensic chemistry undergraduate student I was tested out of the general chemsirty courses offered at York College. This being the case I needed to find a way to keep chemistry fresh in my mind till the higher level courses were available to me. A professor suggested that I become a lab assistant for the general chemistry classes. This job included preparing all necessary chemicals as well as working closely with the students and faculty.
