I have been an educator for the past 8 years, serving as an elementary teacher, middle and high school teacher, and ESL teacher. I have also taught online and in a tutoring company. I am a big believer in individualized instruction, and I think tutoring is one of the best ways for a student to learn. I have some unique teaching experiences in international schools in Macedonia, and I have also taught in Thailand and the U.S. I am passionate about learning and I love seeing my students succeed in their own academic/language endeavors!

A Little Bit About Me...

I tend to use an interactive style of teaching. I involve the student by asking questions and using illustrations because I believe it's more important for the student to understand why an answer is correct than to get the correct answer. I tend to focus on principles that can be applied in specific situations and then provide practice exercises to use the principles. I'm flexible in my approach and try to adapt to the needs of the student, considering the way that he or she learns best. I view myself as a cheerleader, encouraging students to press on and not put themselves down or give up, and as a problem solver who looks for ways to help students overcome the obstacles that stand in the way of achieving their goals.

With my Bachelor's degree, I began tutoring through Reading Success and conducted private tutoring of Georgia History. I progressed to teaching English, Spanish, and some Special Education Resource classes at the High School level, and continued to teach lower level English classes at a local college along with reading in an Adult Continuing Education program through another college. My writing skills have been sharpened as I edited and wrote articles for newsletters, newspaper releases, and in an administrative capacity.
I enjoy teaching and do my best to make learning fun and easy for my pupils. I approach lessons by letting the student realize how and why the lesson is important and how it relates to their lives. I firmly believe everyone can learn; the style in which they learn may differ from others, but given the correct approach, all teachers/tutors can be successful.
