My comments on tutoring PSAT : I have tutored for the SAT (and related PSAT) in the past. I have taken the PSAT myself and was a National Merit Scholarship Finalist.

I am a big proponent of the theory of multiple intelligences and believe that each student has certain styles of learning that work best for them. I aim to help students figure out how they learn best. Once they realize where their strengths are, they can incorporate the concept into all of their studies, not just the subject for which I happen to be tutoring them.
I have tutored a wide variety students on many subjects. I am most experienced tutoring high school students for the SAT. I worked with Let's Get Ready, a non-profit organization dedicated to preparing high school students for the SAT and their college search process. The easiest way I can explain my teaching style is to begin with the fact that I have worked for Disney for the past 6 years. I always have a smile on my face, and I believe that encouragement is the basis for all true learning. Students need someone to encourage them more than feed them facts.
