Physics - Clearing Up A Murky Subject

I'm generally a fun, happy person, not the classic awkward engineer. :) I'd love to turn a student's "trouble subject" into a point of personal accomplishment, through tutoring that he/she will actually enjoy. I think tutoring comes easily to me because my mind sees multiple ways to understand each problem, which allows me to alter my explanation based on the student's personal understanding. Each of us learns and thinks quite differently, so I enjoy being able to present the material in a way that catches the interest of the student. I was a math tutor at Northern Virginia Community College in Sterling, VA from 08/03 to 07/07. I have also taught adult swim lessons and group swim lessons for children at the Ashburn Sports Pavilion in Ashburn VA.
I enjoy teaching. I believe all children have the ability to succeed in the subject of math. The key to teaching children math is to find out what motivates your students. Then I try to find away to incorporate their interest into the lesson so they relate with the subject at hand.
