While earning my Masters in Accounting, I voluntarily tutored Undergrad students that were earning their Associates or Bachelors in Accounting. The students were enrolled in the local community college (Central Carolina Tech) as well as the University of South Carolina. I have earned an Associates, Bachelors, and Masters which all have concentration in Accounting. I tutor based on the individual's learning needs. I have encountered some that were visual learners ad everything had to be drawn/written out. I have also tutored students that can have me explain it and they grasp it easily. My teaching style changes according to the needs of the student because not every one learns the same. I do believe Accounting is a complex field and the student has to have an interest in the field to truly be successful in retaining what they are taught.

I fully believe that given the appropriate instruction, all students can learn and succeed. Not only do I think it is important for students to gain a full understanding of concepts, but also confidence in themselves as they apply what they learn. I believe that hands-on learning is what is best for most children, however, each child is different and a teacher must accommodate for each student's individual needs. I am very patient while teaching, as students learn at different rates.
