My name is Kimberly Goodwin. People that know me say I have a bubbly personality, passionate about teaching, trustworthy, kind, thoughtful and patient. I have always loved working with children. I just finished my Bachelor’s Degree for Elementary Education and a Concentration in Mathematics and Special Education at Southern New Hampshire University! I began working as a Math Tutor in the Spring of 2012. I tutored three students through Club Z Tutoring, a publicly-funded tutoring organization. I also tutored a student in Pre-Calculus during the same time period. This student was introduced to me through Allison Neal, head of a private tutoring agency. The student's grades improved tremendously during the time that I tutored him. Both Allison and the student (now entering college) have willingly written me letters of recommendation for teaching and tutoring.

I have been a physics and mathematics tutor for my fellow students at the University of Waterloo, in Waterloo, Ontario. Also, I served as a physics T.A. at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute before I transferred to Waterloo. Finally, I was a substitute teacher for two years at Belmont Middle School and Belmont High School, in Belmont, New Hampshire.
My teaching style is simple but effective. With mathematics and physics, the student retains an idea, with the added benefit of a solid intuition if he or she is fortunate enough to work through a problem using his or her's own insights. Guiding the student with the systematic offering of penetrating questions seems to be one of the most powerful methods to aid in the understanding of mathematical and physical phenomena.
