I have recently acquired a Master of Education degree in Education-a lifelong dream. I have taught in both private and public schools in grades PreK-6. I have tutored many students along the way-including summer school for struggling readers and writers. My most recent assignment was a permanent substitute position in the first grade. I am currently tutoring in ELL AND ALL ACADEMIC SUBJECTS. I have passed all the MTEL exams and have helped fellow colleagues with these exams. I also hold License to teach Special Needs.
I am a fan of Howard Gardner- I believe each student has his/her own learning style. Knowing these learning styles can help both teacher and student accomplish academic success. I also believe in a gradual release of responsibility on the student's part. Teaching vocabulary before the actual lesson can help the student understand more completely.

I have been tutoring for many years. I started at Sylvan Learning Centers, where I was there for two and one half years. I am proud to say I was successful in that I helped many students and that I was able to do this over a wide range of student needs. Some of this included teaching the SAT preparation course, both the English and math sides. I have also had students who I tutored in their home. This included some advanced math students. As a high school student, I had a part time job tutoring a younger high school student in mathematics and SAT preparation. This job was 4 nights a week and lasted all during my senior year. As a college student, I would frequently help friends and family with high school chemsitry in a one-on-one formal setting. I also further tutored my brother's friend in SAT preparation. After completing my degrees, I did some tutoring for my future sister-in-law in college level organic chemistry.
