My comments on tutoring Composition : I am a Cerftified High School English teacher.

I started working at JCPS as a substitute teacher in 2000 at a high-at-risk high school. I then becamse an Instructional Assistant III and was accepted into an accelerated program with JCPS and Ky. State University to complete the program in two years for my certification. I have taught at an at risk middle school for two years, and high school for the past six. I have also tutored for the SOAR after school program for the past seven years but with the cuts last year, the after school NCLB organization I worked for closed. THerefore, I am open for scheduling my own clients. I can provide many refereences of students parents that I tutored for more than one years consequtvely by request. I am a 60-year old man who has taught every subject at every grade level as an artist in the schools for over 35 years. I currently substitute in all the grades in Hart County so I have had to demonstrate knowledge of every subject at every grade level. I have been in the classrooms of public schools every day for about 60% of my adult life. I hold a Bachelor's Degree from Oberlin College with a major in Biology and minors in Chemistry and Math. I have tutored a lot over the years, and whereas I am comfortable handling any subject, my particular strong point is Math. I am able to find the way that students can understand the principles being learned (and this way is different for each student).
