I have been a middle school teacher for 11 years teaching students from 6-8 grade. I have workied with children from many backgrounds and ethnicity. I love to see a person understand something they have been trying so hard to understand. I know that all people are going to learn differently and that I have to determine how a particular person learns. I am a very patient person, and I know that if a person is not understanding a subject, I just need to find another way to explain it. Every student has the capability to learn. I hold a BS degree in Mathematics from Salisbury University, where I regularly tutored my peers in various math subjects, physics, and chemistry. I’ve always enjoyed teaching others, whether I was a kid tacking up my pony and giving informal riding lessons or leading fellow undergrad students through the forests surrounding Salisbury University’s field station. I graduated from St. Lawrence University, a liberal arts foundation of learning that has served me judiciously on the metaphorical road of life. I entered DeVry University in Summer of 2007 as an Accounting/Business Major looking to aquire my Associates of Applied Science in Accounting. I took a variety of general education classes such as business, math, english, and science. I attended the school for a few months earning credits before having to take a break to go home and be with my father who was suffering from a serious illness. I did extremely well in the areas of math and english which required extensive hours spent on research and studying. I have been privately tutoring children over the past three years. When I went to Graduate School I taught lab and two discussion sections, making sure the students understood the lecture material from the Professor.
