My experience tutoring started with young age non english speaking children and continued to escalate during college. I have an Associates degree as a Community Spanish Interpreter. I like to have people learn the basic vocabulary and then have my students learn how to pronounce and recognize the sound of the words when spoken. I also like to combine what I call community survival Spanish skills in every lesson that enables my students to communicate in a very short period of time. A Little Bit About Me...

I am pretty versatile when it comes to teaching. I see what works best for a given individual or group and try to meet students where they are academically. I also attempt to motivate students by incorporating topics they enjoy into lessons.
I am a former high school and middle school English teacher who is currently pursuing a Master's of English at East Carolina University. This past semester I tutored in a writing studio at ECU. Love watching children learn and grow!

I use several teaching styles. Whatever works for that particular student. Some students are visual. They need to see what you are talking about. Others are good listeners; they can listen and learn. Some students need to do. All students need practice and I try to provide them with plenty of practice to ensure that they have mastered the topic.
I started teaching in 1989. Not only I have tutored students on different grade levels, but also worked as a classroom teacher in grades Pre-k through High School.
