In a world where you can be anything, be yourself.

I have helped children and teens from all ages in the field of English as well as performing arts. I have a passion for fine arts and literature and enjoy tutoring and helping others. I also have a passion for mathematics and have tutored several classmates in past years. Here on the campus of East Carolina University, I have been involved in several different mentoring programs to help motivate and enrich children. During the Fall and Winter breaks I assist with End-of-Grade testing preparation at church.
My teaching style varies by the student. If the student learns fast and is persitent, I will move at a faster state, but if the student learns at a normal or a slower pace I will move at a rate in which the child will get the most out of the tutoring experience.

I believe that all people have the capability to learn. It is the job of the educator to nurture that capability. Each pupil is different and as a teacher, it is my duty to recognize the potential of a student and individualize my approach to reach that particular student. Learning should be interesting and innovative. A lesson should captivate the student and draw him into the subject matter. My job is to present a child with the opportunity to learn. With that opportunity, I will bring out the inner intelligence that a student might not have known existed.
As an undergraduate student, I studied English and communication. These two subjects combined groomed me into a proficient writer, communicator, and researcher. Post graduation, I took a year off to work and explore myself and the world. During my conquest, my love of English deepened. This desire for learning and love for Engl ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I love teaching children who are so eager to learn. I am always a constant student myself, learning new ways to teach someone the confidence they need to make it in a world filled with technology and also being able to keep that interpersonal communication that everyone needs to succeed in life. I am very patient and outgoing and am always looking for new ways to come up with a fun new way to teach about communications, business, public speaking, and also basic computer skills. I am always ready and willing to make that imprint in a child or young adults life.
