I graduated from Marquette University in January of 2015 with degrees in Math and Secondary Education. I am currently teaching math in the Waukesha School District, and next school year I will be working at a Milwaukee Public High School. To me education is a way of life. My academic career has been driven by a thirst for knowledge. I have earned a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering, during which my math, physics, biology, engineering (mechanical and electrical), and other science skills were cultivated. I am believer in providing a bottom-up approach to mathematics. I first present a difficult problem to the student to find where their current level of expertise lies. Once I identify potential issues the student is having, I break the difficult problem into smaller problems which are easier to handle. I believe students need to start with easy problems, multiple examples, and heavy guidance. Then, I provide increasingly difficult problems until an abstract concept is obtained without my assistance.
