I look for students to build their own answers through logical and intuitive reasoning based on my feedback. If the student truly struggles, I basically breakdown the subject matter into blocks and demonstrate it in a logical fashion. Most of the time, I believe the student needs to learn how to learn. The subject matter is rarely the issue, just the least it mechanisms.
I am fluent in both French and English. I hold a bachelor's degree in economics and finance from Union University 2002 and an MBA from Palm Beach Atlantic University 2012. I have coached and tutored students athletes and regular students in high school and college. I work through building a system of excellence in learning that fits the individual.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am a recent graduate of Western Michigan University with multiple degrees in accounting. I have extensive knowledge of journal entries, general ledger and the accounting cycle. For 2 years I have worked with H & R Block and have a specialty in tax. My tutoring experience was through Beta Alpha Psi and I did a semester of tutoring undergraduate accounting students.
I love to help people understand the complexities of accounting and the tax code. As a tax preparer I made it my duty to help each client understand their tax situation and made sure they could take all allowable deductions and credits. My teaching style is to lead by example but then provide the student with the oppurtunity to work through the problem on their own. One of the reasons that I'm interested in tutoring is that, although I love working with individual students and small groups, I am less interested in classroom management, discipline and the rest of the duties that come along with substitute teaching.
