A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked with children for many years and in many different settings. I have observed so many different learning styles and I strive, as a teacher, to be flexible enough to help a child learn using their strengths. I do not expect perfection but I do expect my students to work to their potential. I also believe that my students need to feel as though they can openly discuss any problems or concerns with me. I believe that the learning process is a group effort. My goal as a teacher is to provide a learning environment that will enable students to learn, grow, and feel good about themselves.

I have a sincere love for education, and I love to share that love. What people like about me is my interactive and enthusiastic approach to teaching and tutoring. I enjoy working with individuals and small groups in an education setting. I believe in differentiation in education, meaning tailoring the experience to each child's abilities and needs. I also believe in scaffolding, or determining where a student's prior knowledge exists, and then building upon that to bring them up to the current level expected of them.
