My comments on tutoring Microsoft Office : I have extensive training in Microsoft Office. Every year while teaching the teachers received training in Microsoft Office. Also, as a STEAM teacher, we received extra training in technology which included Microsoft Office.

I have tutored in both Robeson County and Cumberland County for a total of six years. I tutored students in math, reading and science from grades Kindergarten to sixth grade. We also prepared students in grades three through six for the End of the Year test. We taught test taking strategies as well. In addition, I have tutored students that attend college in American Government and World History. I also, tutored in GA for three years. I am used to student-led teaching. The students choose the topic they feel they need the most help with. I walk him/her through an example problem or two and then he/she does a few alone. Once I feel that he/she is comfortable with the topic, I ask whether he/she would like to try any more. This allows the student to take control of their time and learning experience, which is often much more interesting and enjoyable for them. However, I am open to going through the book consecutively. As a tutor at Eastern University I came to the realization that not all students learned in the same way. I have a different teaching style as compared to the teachers putting things into real life examples, or even making things hands on so my students understand better. It is very important to let children know that there is no wrong or right way of doing their work, as long as it is done correctly. They also need to know that their methods are their own. Children needs reassurance. When A childs' work is not done to one's full potential, it is not my strategy to make them feel like less of a child. It is however, my strategy to work with that child until he/she understands WHY the work was not done correctly, and then let him/her correct the work themself.
