I am a recent college graduate from Ashland University with a degree in communication and French. While at Ashland as well as in high school, I was involved in peer tutoring programs. In high school, I tutored a second year student in French, mainly in grammatical concepts. In terms of mathematics, I was always a strong student in math. I completed algebra and geometry courses throughout high school. I was also a strong student in history. The methods of teaching I was instructed when I obtained my Bachelor in Education at the University of Akron Ohio, from 1989-1991, was the following Integrated, Whole language approach and Montessori. The method we were instructed to use in the Akron city school system was Integrated which uses basic and whole language approach language Arts. These integrated units allow us the opportunity to make sure children are learning relevant information and applying that knowledge to real life scenarios. Language Arts is what I use in all my teachings and lesson plans.

I earned my BS in Early Childhood Education in 2004 and became certified to teach in the State of Ohio. I have been teaching for five years, my most recent experience as a long term Reading (grades 6-8) substitute for two years in Cleveland. I have tutored the past two years for Knowledge College in Cleveland. Tutoring was in Reading and Math. When I taught lower grades it was all subject areas.
I have wanted to be a teacher since I was a child. I started preparing materials and purchasing supplies as a teenager. I am very passionate about my work.
