I believe learning should be fun whenever possible - engaging at least, if not fun. I strive to make even the most boring or challenging topics interesting and relevant to my students. At the same time, I understand the value of work for work's sake and know that learning cannot and should not be fun 100% of the time.
I have over 10 years experience teaching French in a variety of venues to a variety of students. My experience includes teaching hundreds of children ages 2 1/2 years old through 12 years old in a private school setting. I have also taught homeschool early elementary as well as public junior/senior high school and private junior/senior high school.

My teaching style is basic. I feel it is most important for a student to grasp the basics before they can move on to more complicated subject material. I also am a strong believer of parental involvement. A parent knows their children's learning patterns best. I like to use different approaches. Activities that are visually and mentally stimulting help to form a connection between the student and the lesson. It is important to me that each of my student's set and acheive goals.
As a high school student, I attended Tiffin University to gain college experience and credit earlier than expected. My experiences as an educator have been numerous and continuous throughout my life. I have a Bachelor in Education 1-8th (Science) I have taught all subjects. Actually I am multilingual. I am native Spanish speaker; I can read, write; translate in my language of origin. I also have five years of French, I read and translate better then speaking fluently the reason I really do have anyone to practice speaking the French language. I am currently a tutor and mentor for a fifth grade child in Delaware, Ohio via the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. I have gained a tremendous amount of experience working with this student in and out of the classroom, and it has allowed me to develop my teaching skills in all areas of curricula. I tutor my student in each and every one of her subjects. I also informally tutor some of my peers at Ohio Wesleyan University, particularly in Science classes, in which I am most experienced.
I am a very interactive teacher. I find it helpful for the students I work with if I am able to relate a lesson to something else with which they are familiar. I like to use tangible learning tools and hands on methods, allowing the student to get the most experience possible with a lesson in order to really grasp and have deep understanding of the material.
