I am a certified teacher, with 25+ years experience as a special ed teacher, tutor, and homebound instructor for PK- grade 12. I have a B.S. Degree in Special Education K-12, an M.Ed. degree in Early Childhood Special Education, and a graduate certificate program qualifying me as an Assistive Technology Specialist. My most recent job provided me with experience developing and providing training to teachers and students, especially regarding modifications and adaptations that would facilitate inclusion of children with disabilities in the regular curriculum. Previous experiences include responsibility for implementing and carrying out emergent literacy practices in special education classrooms.

My teaching style is adaptive. I believe everyone has the capacity to learn. The approach to learning is what makes the difference. Being a mother, I love children and am very patient. I also know that kids have their own distinct personalities and I address each child as an individual person, with their own talents and ideas. There is nothing better than when a person's face lights up, young or old, when they "get it." Knowing you have impacted a person, potentially for the rest of their life, is a reward in and of itself. The pay that comes attached to it is the bonus.
