Education is a key to a high quality of life. I have earned a BS in Chemical Engineering (math, science, chemistry) and a BA in Ministry and Leadership (Bible, management, essay writing). In addition, I lack 3 hours from completing a Master's Degree in Education. My tutoring experience has primarily been with students working to earn their GED. Since I have tutored for several years, I've found that every person learns slightly differently. The key to how I teach is to figure out how that person best learns. There is no such thing as a stupid person, just one who hasn't been taught in a way that they can understand yet. I am a firm believer in never giving up on someone, particularly when I know that they can do it. Most just need a little help and encouragement to figure out that they ARE smart and they CAN do it, and that's what I'm here for.

In undergrad, I was somewhat of a perfectionist looking for a way to help others. I found that being a tutor and a supplemental instructor allowed me to help others in ways I could never imagine. I became a California Reading and Learning Certified tutor and supplemental instructor in 2008 with a program called the Center for Academic Success at the small liberal arts college I was attending and recieved students asking for help in classes including english, college writing seminars, chemistry, and math.
