My entire life has been surrounded by both music and technology and I'm looking to share that with my students. In terms of musical instruction, though the particular curriculum I use varies from student from student, I am a firm believer in first connecting to music they already know and using that as a starting point to get them invested in the music. In terms of technology and other instruction, my number one goal is making sure that the student understands the particular subject before moving onto other, harder subjects.

I love teaching and relating to people. I know from personal experience that one good teacher can change the way a student views an entire subject. I am easy-going, friendly, and patient. I believe that all students have great potential and should be given every opportunity to fulfill it.
Having graduated from a liberal arts university, I know that being well-rounded is very important in life. I graduated from Whitworth with a BS in Math and minors in Spanish and Computer Science, so I know what it is like to learn complex subjects. I have tutored my peers along with students younger and older than myself, as a mathematician and a Spanish speaker. I led a Spanish Live Lab for two years and informally tutored math for four. Also, I have a great deal of grammatical knowledge from writing research papers in math and computer science and Spanish.
