Don't risk your grade/money on mere paper qualifications

My teaching style relies heavily on feedback from the client. I try to have a phone call with a student to learn what they are having difficulty with but also what their professor might expect from them. Then I get a good sense of their personality to understand the best way to get ideas across to them. There are often roadblocks to learning such as personal hangups or self doubt that must be addressed. Other times it is just a matter of understanding what the person does or does not get.
You will see many ads by former or current professors trying to make a buck on the side. They are terrible tutors - they spent their whole careers having students beg them for a better grade. As a Virginia Tech Honors Graduate I earned a bachelor degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering. Through this path I have gained an understanding of both math and physical sciences. A Little Bit About Me...

I am a patient person. I find patience can in the long run solve problems. The students come to realize I am respecting them and the almost always respond positively. I valued rigor in my education. Therefore I would teach with many problems to require the students to learn and grow. An example is good habits on writing up homework.
