Bachelor's degree in mathematics, graduating in May 2013.

I am currently a senior at Urbana University and will be graduating in may of 2013. Along side of being a full time student of mathematics I also play varsity baseball at the university and have received the scholar athlete award several times in my four years. Being a division 2 athlete has given me the best of both worlds I believe in that play on the field was competitive and forced me to become a leader but also helped in making me accell in the classroom as it is said the student always comes first in student athlete. In teaching, one must realize that students learn at different rates of speed. Consequently, you need to find a pace at which the student feels comfortable. As most of my experience and interest is in mathematics, I always want to see a student be able to solve problems on their own. It's a great feeling when a student overcomes a hurdle and they realize that they can get the right answer.
In my year of graduate school I accepted a position as a teaching assistant. It was my first opportunity to stand in front of a class.
