A Little Bit About Me...

I believe it is very important for children to learn to enjoy the process of learning. Every child learns and relates to new information differently, so teachers must use appropriate teaching strategies to ensure the success of their students. My goal is to help students to make better grades, but teach them HOW to learn where they can become independent lifelong learners.
I graduated from WKU with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, and during this time I worked at an elementary school during their after school program helping tutor and supervise the children. After I graduated, I substituted for several school districts in mostly elementary grades, but I also worked in middle & high school. I am currently working half-time as a reading intervention teacher. My strongest subject is math and english.

I earned a bachelors degree in Sociology and criminology and have background classwork in social work as well. As a communication disorders major I have acquired an understand and love for working with children. During my internship I was able to work one-on-one with children who have language disabilities. It was through this internship that I learned what a reward it can be to help others, and to see them flourish intellectually.
I have always believed that each child is truly unique. I However do not believe that all education and forms of it, should be uniform.
