ACT is one of my top subjects! I am experienced in the English and Reading components of the ACT, both in content and strategies.

I received a 34 on the reading section of the ACT and a 32 on the English section. I am graduating in May with a BS in Psychology at the University of Kentucky. I have had tutoring experiences with a wide range of ages, from middle school students to college students. I currently tutor college students and am hoping to expand my tutoring services.
I like to make learning an interactive process as I believe students are more likely to retain what they learn when they have an active role in their success of understanding the material. Although I establish that I am the one in charge, I try to create a relaxed environment where the student feels comfortable enough to be open with their struggles, concerns, and questions. I attended Thomas More College on an academic scholarship and graduated with honors in the spring of 2011 with a BA in Environmental Science. Presently, I am pursuing a Master of Biology degree at the University of Cincinnati, where I hold a University Graduate Scholarship as well as a Yates Scholarship. I worked as a private tutor from 2006 through 2011, and in 2008 and 2009 I also tutored through Thomas More College. Currently, I am an instructor for undergraduate biology labs at the University of Cincinnati.

A Little Bit About Me...

I always enjoy having fun. I enjoy helping others understand things and have the communication abilities to be a great teacher. I enjoy working one-on-one with individuals and am very trustworthy. I am involved largely in church at home and in Ames and will work diligently and appropriately to ensure my teaching is effective.
