ACT is one of my top subjects! I am experienced in the English and Reading components of the ACT, both in content and strategies.

I like to make learning an interactive process as I believe students are more likely to retain what they learn when they have an active role in their success of understanding the material. Although I establish that I am the one in charge, I try to create a relaxed environment where the student feels comfortable enough to be open with their struggles, concerns, and questions. I don't give away answers, but am there to help the student realize that they have what it takes to find the answers on their own. I am simply there to help them find it until they feel comfortable to do it by themselves.

Because I went through the accelerated program I understand the need of hands on activities and alternative learning styles. I bring these into my teaching. I also am a firm believer that doing a lot of problems is the best way to get good at a subject, especially math.
I am a high school senior and have been tutoring peers since middle school. Experienced Tutor with Expertise in Math and Social Science

I have been tutoring students of all ages since I was in high school. I began by tutoring my own peers in math and social studies. I would also tutor children from 1st grade on up in all subjects. Once in college, I tutored college students and younger in many fields, primarily mathematics courses. My specialty quickly became preparation for standardized tests as well as calculus because I have a unique ability to discover how each student learns and tailor the lessons to their needs. Realizing buildings weren't my passion and agriculture was where I wanted to go, I changed to a triple major in ag systems technology, ag business, and economics. I did not major in the subjects which I listed (I minored in Chemistry), but I do have experience as tutor. At Southern State, I tutored basic math and Algebra Courses to adult students who had been out of school for several years.
