Elementary Phonics is one of my top subjects! Certified in the Wilson Language Program 2001, a program that is designed to teach reading skills to students with dyslexia and other language processing difficulties. The program's major emphasis is on phonics, phonological awareness, and fluency with some interwoven comprehension taught through visualilzation.

I teach according to the style that best works for the child, and I take the first couple of tutoring sessions to figure out a child's strengths, weaknesses, interests, and most effective learning style. Regardless of style, however, I believe that a multisensory approach to teaching is best for a child, as it allows teachers to tap into areas of strength of which the student may not be aware. I feel that it is essential to develop a strong rapport with a student in order for positive learning to take place.
