My job as an educator is to teach them how to learn it and make them want to learn it. I personally do not believe that negative reinforcement is beneficial. I use a very data-driven teaching style. I like to start by gathering data from parents or teachers to determine what is conceived as the child's biggest hurdles. Then, I will give the child a short assessment based on these identified skills and use what they show me to determine my instruction. Elementary Math is one of my top subjects!
