I believe that a teacher's role in the classroom (among other strategies) is to cultivate independent thinking through dialogue. A Little Bit About Me...

I am a recent graduate of West Chester University with my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. Currently I am a part time substitute for Central Bucks School District, and hope to be a tutor in my spare time. My tutoring experience includes tutoring a girl who primarily spoke Spanish but was fluent in English and teaching her to read and write. I also help students when I substitute in the classroom setting with their classwork.
I believe that each child has their own individual style of learning. Every child learns in a different way and therefore can definitely benefit from individual attention. The best way to help children learn and grow is by gradually encouraging them to love to learn. Children love to learn and feel a sense of accomplishment and self-worth when they are successful. I greatly enjoy helping children learn. Each child has the capacity to learn and it is the teachers job to present the material in a manner which is conductive to the child’s understanding. Providing tools to help each student comprehend the material is essential.
