Individualized learning/teaching for optimal comprehension

I take a hands on material approach to learning/teaching. I feel that young students learn best when they can physically learn, such as through blocks/puzzles/interactive learning devices and other similar approaches. I try to let the student use their hands as much as I can to aid in their learning process. For older students such as my high school students or their college counterparts I use more direct audial teaching and visual teaching styles. Every person learns differently, so I cater my teaching style to each individual learner.
I started tutoring in my teens helping young children with Autism Spectrum Disorders develop English and Math skills as well as speech therapy and public speaking. As a French native and a resident of the United States, I developed a profound interest in foreign languages and teaching French. My degree in Computer Science, mathematics and my subsequent experience in the field in France and Quebec, Canada enabled me develop my critical thinking abilities and writing research papers during my studies helped me with my grammatical skills. A Little Bit About Me...

I love teaching, Math especially. I have a passion for showing kids how important MAth is in everyday life. Only then they would take down that barrier of "I Dont Need Math" most ofthem have set up. I come from a very diverse background and I enjoy talking about my culture and learning about other cultures. I do not believe in spoon-feeding kids work, meaning that you have to make them responsible for doing the work, because only then they would see the true value in it. As an engineer, I enjoy working on design projects with kids and telling them about the many possibilites there are in the engineering field.
