Elementary Math is one of my top subjects!

I graduated from West Liberty-Salem in 2010 with a GPA of 3.5 and I am currently enrolled at Urbana University studying Sports Management with a current GPA of 3.89. I am taking several computer courses in college and have taken 3 years of computer related courses while in high school. I am well experienced in math, the highest level of math I have taken in high school was Pre-Calculus which I took my Junior year and I have also taken 2 semesters of math while in college.

In 2005 I began a part time job as an Adult Education instructor for Sentinel Career Center where my primary focus was language arts/writing. I was part of the STAR reading program where I became certified to teach adults to read. A Little Bit About Me...

I have a Bachelor's Degree in General Studies, which simply means that I couldn't decide between the other two areas of study I was considering: Early Childhood Education and History. I home schooled my youngest brother from the time he was in the sixth grade until he finished high school, so I have fairly broad experience in regards to subjects. I believe in presenting each child with a verbal and visual explanation of each objective. I then believe that each child needs the chance to complete a task with encouragement and success before independent work. Assessment should only be taken AFTER a child has experienced numerous chances for understanding, practice, and mastery.
