Honor Student hoping to help students achieve success

Hello! My name is Kayla Bear. I am a first-year student at Purdue University; however, I am a sophomore according to my credit hours. I earned college credit in high school to get ahead of the game. I worked as a peer mentor throughout high school, helping students with their homework and helping prepare them for tests such as the SAT. I have taken a number of courses in various subjects, so I feel that I am able to help a wide range of students. I was editor of my high school yearbook last year, so I have a lot of experience training people in writing and grammar. I was also asked to tutor Statistics for Purdue University due to my high achievement in my statistics class in the fall 2012 semester. I've had a strong passion for everything related to Math since grade school. This continued into high school, where I was fortunate to have an extraordinary Math instructor, who further inspired me to put forth my best. College proved difficult in that I was forced to teach myself, rather than rely on the straight-forward explanations of my high school days, in order to succeed. My long history of countless math courses and exposure to an exceptional teacher provided me with a strong foundation based on extensive knowledge and instructional tools required to help others in their academic pursuits.
