A Little Bit About Me...

I just finished my first year of teaching science for grades 6-12 in a remote school in Nevada. It has been noted from a previous employer that I can shift very quickly between different groups of students to adjust to what is developmentally appropriate. I relate very well to both the junior high and high school age levels. I was the 8th grade class advisor and the junior high track coach. I maintained the science curriculum for a seven period, four day school week. All of my students passed the CRT test for science, which is comparable to MEAP test in Michigan) and three obtained perfect scores.
I love teaching and working with all children. I believe all children can learn, but each in different ways. I am available to help your child find academic success. I am patient, easy going, and considerate. My goal is to provide the best education possible. I am a firm belie ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy interacting and teaching others through interactive discussions, presentations, and hands-on exercises. I have worked with many people from various academic and cultural backgrounds during my academic and professional career, and can adapt to training individuals with a variable learning preference. I mostly have experience in lecture format, open discussion, and hands-on applications. Much of my work with others involved showing how to perform a physical act, such as a laboratory experiment, however, I supplemented the examples with details focusing on theory. I am patient and considerate when it comes to other learning styles and I recognize that everyone interprets and processes information differently.

A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education/Child Development (ZA Endorsement). From that point on, I subbed in various elementary schools, including Rockford and Comstock Park. I obtained a kindergarten position at St. Adalbert School in the fall of 1996 and taught there for four years. I then transferred to St Paul the Apostle School in 2000, where for the past 10 years I have taught first grade. I earned my Master's Degree in Reading in the year 2003, which made me qualified to be a reading specialist.
I hold high expectations for all my students to achieve the best that they can do. I am aware that there are various learning styles in the classroom, especially with first grade! I have experience in using Brain Gym, Multiple Intelligences, and utilize the various learning styles into my lesson plans. I am patient, kind, and yet fi ... read more

I care deeply about the next generation and wish to impart on them a desire to learn. I have seen a student change from a surly individual to one who participated in class and became more consistent in homework. I believe that respect, encouragement, and care can motivate a child to go beyond his best and succeed not only in school, but also in life. Being a part of the education world is not only a huge responsibility; it is a privilege few attain with the joy I have experienced during the past few years.
Groups are beneficial because there are a variety of opinions, abilities, and skill levels, thus teaching students the importance of unity in the workplace and classroom. Buddies are important because they give students someone other than the teacher to go to with questions that may seem "silly" and give them someone with whom to share concerns. Books and technology can be used t ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

For most of the last four years I have been involved in some aspect of education, from teaching children in Korea to tutoring college students in writing. Through these experiences I have learned that the most important quality of a good teacher (besides extensive knowledge of the subject area) is patience. My philosophy is to treat learners with patience and respect.
I am currently the writing skills specialist at a local college and have three years of tutoring experience in writing, two of which were during the time I was completing my Master's Degree. In 2004, I spent six months teaching English in Korea. Because of my experience overseas, my seven years of coursework in Spanish, and my tutoring of foreign students in writing, I have a great deal of knowledge helping students whose first language is not English. I feel comfortable assisting students of any level with writi ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I believe everyone has the tools to succeed. The ability to recognize strengths and weaknesses, and to adjust accordingly, is what it takes to succeed. Everyone is an individual, and as such, everyone has unique learning techniques. I believe encouraging the natural curiosity the student is the best way to foster a learning environment. By encouraging curiosity an instructor can turn learning from a chore to do, into a lifelong activity enjoyed by the student. As a person who takes personal pride in their work, I would strive to provide the highest quality assistance to your student. I would be diligent in providing the best information and tools to enable your student to succeed.
Throughout my academic career, I have excelled in many subject areas. As a result of my academic success I graduated with a bachelor of science degree from Grand Valley State University in Natural Re ... read more
