When a student can see a pattern develop they develop an understanding that can be universally applied to many different areas of study and life circumstances. Learning is different then memorizing. It is especially important to understand the concepts behind the subject matter when planning continue in a similar learning subject. I am a licensed Social worker with tutoring experience in and out of college. I have the most experience in tutoring Algebra and other math. I have a student now that I am helping with AP English who has dyslexia. I enjoy watching her grammar skills increase and her overall understanding of the concepts develop. I am hands on. I am very parient and to not get frustrated easily. I do not have an age preference becuase I enjoy working with all age groups. I am personaly continuing with my Masters in September of this year. I cannot express how important education is to further your ability to care and provide for your family. I love working with children on this subject as well. I have taken MANY communication and diversity/ethics classes and have a firm understanding of how to approach and communicate with people on many educational and social levels. I LOVE to communicate and teach how to better communicate with others. I have worked with homeless families to further thier education and their children. I have created, promoted, and taught in a GED program for young adults up to seniors in odrer for them to aquire their GED.

I earned a BS in Business (CIS) with a cumulative 3.4 GPA and membership in two National Honor Societies. Courses included Chemistry, many Social Studies classes, and calculus-based Chem Physics. Briefly I taught Science and Math at a private high school in Albuquerque and did well, but quit because of a medical problem with my leg. After active duty in the Navy, I earned 8 credit hours in English through the CLEP test, and didn't take Freshman English. I had always made straight 'A's in English, and had excellent grammar.
