I have a BS degree in chemistry and an MS degree in math. I currently teach at the college level for various colleges including dual credit courses in many high schools. I have been a tutor for over 15+ years. I have been a statistician, a chemist in a laboratory setting, worked in the medical field, and done consulting for various companies through out my career. I love math and science, and my passion allows me to make learning and applying math and science interesting and entertaining to even the most difficult audiences. While completing my degree, I worked in the math department as a tutor. I often had several students with various subjects simultaneously. It was a challenge to constantly switch topics, but I apparently did it so well that I almost had a regular class that showed up every time I was on duty. Several students told me that I explained things on a level they could understand as opposed to the high-level language the professor used. I have also done private tutoring since then. I generally work through an example while explaining. Then as the student works the problems, I instruct by asking prompting questions with decreasing frequency until the student can complete problems without any assistance.

Recently, I have taken a college algebra class and a business calculus class, both of which I maintained an A in. I have a little tutoring experience from junior high. One of my instructors requested that I help some of the other students in my math class. I also have been tutoring my family in some of their college math classes. I was recently suggested by my college algebra professor for a tutoring position at the college, but had to turn it down because I was relocating.
