When tutoring students I try to take a multidimensional approach. I attempt to show the child, explain it in my own words, have the student explain it in his/her own words, and then have them apply and practice so that the material really sticks. Throughout high school and college I helped numerous classmates develop efficient ways of studying as well as providing assistance to learning and understanding the given material. I help guide the student along, having them discover much of the information in a trial and error fashion. I tend to use the questions they are struggling with the most, making similar examples, then walking them through these problems and breaking down the problems until the student understands the how the process works.
