A Little Bit About Me...

I have recently graduated from Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island. While attending university, I studied various courses- natural science, social science, criminal justice, biology- but my true passion lies in foreign language. French and Portuguese were my primary languages studied. I am pleased to say that I was lucky enough to have studied abroad for a semester in Paris, France. Throughout my life, I have tutored colleagues (though in a non-professional setting) in foreign language.
My philosophy is that education should be as individualized as possible because people do not learn in the same manner. During the past four years of my undergraduate study, I have been given many opportunities to work and explore outside of my degree in piano performance. I was able to take a class about working with exceptional learners. Outside of the classroom, I have had the opportunity to counsel children with special needs during summer programs and a winter ski program. I have also had the opportunity to work as a one-on-one aide for a child in a public school summer program. Recently, I have had the opportunity to tutor a junior high student in both math and English. I have worked with children with a variety of disabilities and needs.
