While there I was a member of TriBeta, a biological honors society, and lead biology workshops designed to help first and second year biology students get a better understanding of the fundamentals of biology. I also worked in a research lab isolating and mapping DNA from a local fish population to better understand why populations of certain subspecies were declining.

I attended the college of The Virgin Islands (presently University of the USVI) and graduated with a Bsc in Biology in 1986. While in college I became captivated with computers and programming. Since I already had a keen interest in electronics, I pursue job opportunities that were computer related after I graduated. As a result all my jobs were of a technical nature. My love for the Sciences has never diminished and I have kept up with Math and Science subjects to stay in tune. I began my tutoring experience by tutoring high school algebra and geometry to fellow students during my senior year of high school. During my four years at LaGrange College I worked in the Tutoring Lab as a tutor for biology and humanities. After graduation, and before entering medical school, I worked as a tutor for Sylvan Learning Center and worked with students seeking homework support for Algebra and Geometry as well as with other students enrolled in the Math Essentials program. While at Sylvan I also taught the math portion of the SAT Prep course.
