Spanish, History and English as a Second Language

I have always loved teaching and working with kids. I have volunteered at a number of places that allowed me to exercise my ability to tutor and mentor children ages 5-17. Since high school, I have volunteered at a local preschool. This past summer, I spent time in Honduras teaching English at an orphanage. I have a very concrete understanding of English and Spanish grammar, and I have spent the last four years studying writing at Grand Valley State University.
I believe that the teacher's most important job is to present material in a way that makes learning fun and interesting. Everyone learns best in different ways, and it is important to remember this when tutoring or teaching. Whereas some learn best with visualizations, others learn by listening.
