I was more of an instructor than a teacher. I was a day camp counselor at Solway House parent/child resort in Saugerties N.Y. I instructed kids how to swim, dive, play various sports and gave dancing lessons to the guests. As a high school student I tutored 7th and 8th graders in an after school community center. I was one of a few staff at the University of Connecticut to instruct graduates and staff in the use of the various electronic facilites available to them.

I love teaching and have indeed taught everything from basic reading to dance class. I have tutored people that range in age from five to age sixty-two. I believe that everyone has the ability to learn if he or she is taught in a way that makes sense to that individual. During the past four years of my undergraduate study, I have been given many opportunities to work and explore outside of my degree in piano performance. I was able to take a class about working with exceptional learners. Outside of the classroom, I have had the opportunity to counsel children with special needs during summer programs and a winter ski program. I have also had the opportunity to work as a one-on-one aide for a child in a public school summer program. I have taught with students from the age of 6 to the age of 29 in all subjects from math and reading, to philosophy and history. I am relaxed and zealous when teaching students.
