After graduating from Clyde High school, I went on to Ohio State Mansfield, where I majored in psychology and special education. I am currently a full time student at Ashford University online. I am studying to become an advocate for special needs persons and children. I have been tutoring students professtionally for the past year. I specialize in reading and math. I have been teaching for 25 years. I have tutored students in beginning Spanish and reading. I have also taught Sunday School and have been a substitute teacher for 11 years. I have just completed student teaching to become an Intervention Specialist. I intend to be certified this spring.
I vary my teaching style. Some students are content with just reading while others need hands-on and visual experience. I believe in using technology, as the Smart Board and computer instruction in addition to textbook instruction. I do my best to keep the student's interest in mind, and I work at the student's pace. My philosophy is the student comes first.
