I tutored before but of course I wasn't paid for it because it was at my old elementary school. I helped children from ages 8-13 which I was only 11 or 12 at the time. I maybe young to tutor children and maybe I should wait until I'm 18 but, I love helping children with their homework and watch them accomplish the subject.

After graduating from MTSU, I went to Prague, Czech Republic to train and work as a teacher of English as a foreign language. I secured a position at Bell School International. Here I taught mostly adult students but I also had a few high school classes. I found it was more satisfying teaching the younger students and so I looked for work at the elementary level. At Horackova Elementary, I taught 6th to 9th grade English. I had a great rapport with all the students and enjoyed planning for the array of levels and age groups. However, I was the only teacher there who spoke English and felt alienated from the school. As a result, I made the difficult decision to return to the United States. I have helped students from my church for the past eight years in math science and english. I have also worked with my sisters first grade students in math. I enjoy working with youth. It is extremely rewarding to watch a child when that " i get moment" happens and their face lights up with pride, happiness and a sense of accomplishment. I am currently an undergraduate student studying communications. I have held four collegiate journalism internships, two of which were federal internships in Oak Ridge, Tenn.
