Also, in certain instances I believe it helps the learning process if the subject matter can be related to an area of interest. I began my teaching career in Cooperstown, NY in 2001, as a mid-career professional in search of a meaningful job. Previously, I worked in the entertainment industry. Seeking to make a difference in the lives of our children, I moved to Los Angeles to teach English to the children of Latino immigrants. It was the highlight of my teaching profession.
