I have a B.S. degree in music. My instrument is classical guitar, with which I have developed a great degree of skill and I have performed many recitals. I also have extensive experience in composition, music theory and eartraing/sightsinging. In addition, my education has given me good writing and research skills. In the four years since I graduated I have tutored many students in these subjects.

I studied abroad in Quito, Ecuador, and I've traveled to various places in Mexico, which has fostered in me an appreciation for Hispanic culture as well as expertise in the language. It's imperative to listen and understand a students challenges. Reviewing their previous work and giving a current test is a good indicator of the situation. I believe in practice and examples as the clearest path to success. I don't hand deliver answers and I make the process towards answers engaging. I make sure the time and place are conducive to active and non-distractive learning. I relay the importance and relevance of the material.
