Russian is one of my top subjects! I teach Russian right now for my Job. I teach at the Missionary Training Center. I teach missionaries who will be spending two years in Russia/Ukraine. I speak fluently because I myself spent two years in Russia, and I have been teaching it for over a year. I have also successfully completed two Advanced Russian Courses at Utah Valley University.

I am a College Student working towards getting a Secondary Education Teaching degree in Biology and Chemistry. I want to eventually go on and teach at the University level. I am planning on going to the University of Utah and want to get a doctorates in Biology or Biochemistry. I have spent two years in the great land of Russia. I love the country and all the people. For the most part I am a smart cookie. I love life and try to learn as much as I can while I can.

Learning foreign languages is fun!

Russian is one of my top subjects! I have much experience teaching and speaking Russian. I have taught Russian at BYU for 2 years, so I would especially love to help BYU students as I know how the program is set up and the requirements the managers of that department set.

I have a masters in Second Language Teaching specialty- Russian from BYU. I also served an LDS mission in Russia (Rostov-na-Donu mission) where I lived for 18 months speaking, living, and interacting with Russians every day. My most important quality for tutoring is a passion for education. I believe that good learning is based in appreciating the value of the subject matter, and when I teach I strive to make the material relevant to the student. Even students with great willpower do not learn very effectively when they are not interested in the material. I also teach with analogies and comparisons. I love working one-on-one with students. I can see individual needs of students and work with them on overcoming them. I generally pick specific things someone needs to work on and prepare my lesson working only on that until there is sufficient progress to move on. When I teach I like to give examples of what we are working on and then allow some practice time to assess whether or not students understand the material. One of my teaching tools is making exercises that a student can take 15-20 minutes to complete outside of class and use it at the beginning of our next session as a quick review/Q&A opportunity. I enjoy teaching and seeing progress in my students. I believe most students have undiscovered potential to excel in any subject.
