My teaching style is patient, relaxed, and supportive. I tend to tailor my methods to the needs and personality of the student.
I worked for two years at the Cleveland State University Writing Center where I tutored writing and reading comprehension to undergraduate and graduate students of many academic backgrounds. I tutored students one-on-one and also taught writing workshops to groups of 3-6 students. In February of 2013, I began tutoring GED prep at Seeds of Literacy, an adult education organization in Cleveland. I am comfortable tutoring most topics covered on the test. My comments on tutoring GED : I have tutored students at several non-profit organizations in Cleveland for GED test preparation. I have successully mamanged a GED math and science preparation course. In nine months the success rate was increased by 64% I wrote an interactive math education program for GED test preparation and it is used by several school systems in N.E. Ohio

I taught Middle School band for 30 years in the public schools, followed by 9 years part-time at the respected Old Trail School in Bath, OH. My bands at Bolich Middle School in Cuyahoga Falls, OH received many "Outstanding" ratings at O.M.E.A. contests. I have also substituted in several local school districts for a wide variety of subjects, including Spanish and French. A Little Bit About Me...

I have loved teaching and still keep in touch with many of my former students. In fact, I have taught many of their children! I seem to end up helping students with more than just their homework. I have always had a talent for understanding that not everyone "gets it the first time." I had much trouble with science myself.
