I always try to start from "where the student is" and build on from starting point. I believe in positive reinforcement and that anything worth having in life requires consistent effort. I frequently am told after a day of subbing, "Mr. Burns, you are the greatest sub ever!" My wife and I also still perform as musicians in local restaurants, including several Mexican restaurants where we perform many songs in Spanish.

After working in the Marketing/PR field for 5 years, I relocated to Puerto Rico to be with my husband. Not having a solid foundation of the language, I could not obtain a job in my previous field.
