My comments on tutoring Russian : Lived in Russia for 2 years, speak, read, and write fluently.

I love learning languages, and I have lots of experience living overseas. A California native, I lived in Russia for two years where I studied and used the language every day. After coming back, I studied Arabic in college and lived in the Middle East for seven months, where I learned Modern Standard Arabic and colloquial dialects. I am not a native speaker in either of these languages, but I think that makes me even more qualified to teach them to beginners--I know what you're going through!
I am a firm believer that the best way to learn a foreign language is to "consume" as much of it as you can, in as many formats and media as you can get your hands on. Russian is one of my top subjects! Living in Russia most of my life and living here in Los Angeles for 5 years made me a bilingual person. I can speak both Russian and English fluently.

I have been volunteering to teach many people Russian language from the very basics to more high level stuff and most of the cases have been completed good and people whom I taught were able to speak and write basic sentences in Russian. And for Algebra 1 I have been tutoring a lot of kids from school in that subject helping them pass their class with B- or higher grade.
My teaching style is very flexible, it mostly depends on the student and what age they are. If they are just a kid I would try to teach them through pictures, songs, games something interactive. And if they are older age I would teach them more like an adult, but still having some interactive activities.
