I recently received my Business degree from Ohio University. This degree enabled me to learn a wide variety of skills relevant to a number of industries today. I enjoy teaching at a high school level or above. I am very hands on. I am a bit of a story teller - rearranging the circumstances of the problem into an issue more easily related to by the student. I am very patient and relaxed - there are very few people who have a lower stress level than I do.
At MSU, I first worked as a Supplemental Instructor and then became a Graduate Assistant (before I even earned my Bachelor's degree) in the School of Business. I also worked in the math department as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant. I have taught business, accounting and math classes at the college level when instructor was absent. Accounting is by far my strong suit, followed by Excel, Economics and Math, however I do not use high-level math often, although I got A's in everything throughout college.

I have always had a talent for understanding that not everyone "gets it the first time." I had much trouble with science myself. I tend to use stories and analogies to break down complex and arcane concepts into everyday images to make them easier to understand. Accounting lends itself well to this approach because at its core GAAP accounting is nothing more than a common sense approach to valuing and reporting financial transactions. Shorn of their technical jargon, one can see that they are easy to understand. The key is how to remove the technical wrappings so that the student can see the intuitive logic behind the jargon.
