College students are difficult to work with because they think they know it all. This was a blessing in disguise because it taught me not only to learn different ways to tutor a student, but also to figure out through body language and little signals as to whether or not they were actually comprehending the information. Teaching is not just giving information and hoping they retain it. My teaching style consists of teaching, asking questions to ensure they know or understand the material, and exercising hands-on work and examples to ensure the student can apply what they have learned.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have two degrees, the first degree - Associates of Science degree in health, which has given me the understanding in science. Second degree, BS in Accounting which has given me the tools to understand math and many other experience general education. I have tutored for children from grades kindgarten through college. I know how and I love working with children. So far they all reciprocate positively. I believe I should use my education and experience along with my desire to transfer my knowledge to children who want and need to develop a solid, stable background in basic math, statistics and engineering.
While putting my now seventh grader son through school, I have learned I have natural ability, desire and passion to teach, especially math, logic, statistics. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching-style is rigorous yet kind. My students say that no one has ever criticized their writing and thought so thoroughly and constructively. I'm known for my patience working with students with foreign-language backgrounds and other disabilities such as a lack of attention and focus. I learned from my professors at Swarthmore College (and a few at Penn) how to project a non-B.S. style, since kids tend to intuitively realize when their teacher has no idea what he/she is talking about.
